Major Bill For Schools in Colorado

May 27 2009 - 9:14:17:pm by Bjorn

House Bill 1312 recently passed in the state of Colorado.  This bill will give schools the means to implement renewable energy.

This is a giant step in the right direction.  We can now visualize a day when schools are able to spend more money on books and computers than they do on the electric bill.

Congratulations from Adobe Solar to all that were involved.

Xcel Raises Rates in Colorado

May 22 2009 - 8:32:13:pm by Bjorn

We just received a notification that residential rates for electricity are being raised by about 10% for Xcel customers in the Denver area.

Increasing rates is standard operating procedure for large utilities.  They seem to increase their rates with complete disregard for the economy.  In good times, the prices go up.  In bad times, the prices go up.

We at Adobe Solar are as frustrated by these price increases.  We want to help our customers stabilize their energy costs and secure their financial standing.

The solar electric systems we design and install for our customers provide a solution for eliminating these rising costs.  Solar electric systems create the same amount of energy for a minimum of 25 years and the cost remains the same…nothing.

This is just one of the many links discussing the rising rates: http://www.9news.com/rss/article.aspx?storyid=114910

Schools Are Going Green

May 20 2009 - 9:17:22:am by Bjorn

Schools across the US will receive $6.4 billion to implement green technology due to a recent vote in the House.

The green improvements to schools will reduce their operating costs and free up more money for teachers, computers and books.

Green technology will have a profound effect on the environment and the bottom line but it will have an even greater effect as an educational tool.  The students at these schools will understand how these systems work and why they are important for our future.

Adobe Solar is committed to helping schools implement this technology.  A video of our work at Ellis Elementary in Denver is available on our website.

Ritter Outlines Stimulus Spending

May 15 2009 - 8:57:56:am by admin

The Governors Energy Office (GEO) released a proposal outlining how it would like to spend the stimulus money allocated to Colorado on energy projects.

The state could allocate as much as 19.2 million dollars to finance debt, grants, and rebates related to renewable energy.

Adobe Solar sees this as yet another example of the power behind this amazing movement.  Colorado is truly establishing itself as a national leader in the effort to rebuild the energy economy.

Repower America is an organization that believes we can address our national security, economic, and climate problems by aggressively pursuing clean electricity.  They hope to create a World that focuses on increasing efficiency, implementing renewable energy sources like solar power, developing a smart electrical grid, and encouraging electric automobiles.  These actions could have a profound effect on the future of this country and our World.

Repower America shares Adobe Solar’s belief that solar energy is the future of electricity because no fuel is required to produce the energy and there are ample sources for materials and labor.  Furthermore, solar energy releases no CO2 and could create as many as 6 million new jobs for Americans.
